JOB PURPOSE To provide strategic direction to Smelter finance team by implementing Finance & Accounts policies; advise CFO in relation with policy definition and implementation in the context of Vedanta Group’s interests. Accountabilities Major Activities Key Performance Indicators Strategy Planning and review for Smelter • Controlling the finance and overall spend base for power business. • Finalization of IGAAP Accounts, notes to accounts and MIS Reporting • Observing completeness of month end closing activities at consolidated level • Compilation of Business Plan for the Power Business • Compilation and collution of various SBUs Data for consolidated entity level Business Plan, Plant wise BP • Completion of Cost Audit along with filing with MCA • Contribution to Bottom-Line by driving various cost reduction projects. • Management accounting: Preparation of detailed MIS, Variance Analysis, Finance Reports including various management accounting aspects of the business and other management report required for the Power vertical. • Driving the Automation projects for the domain in dose coordination with IT department • Spearhead analytics to generate insights that identify business opportunities and design strategies to implement them. • Liaisoning with the External and Internal auditors to ensure no major audit observations. • Responsible for driving Taxation, Tax Accounts & Audits related to the domain. • Responsible for Legal Insurance Price Risk & Banking of the domain • Timeliness and accuracy of smelter performance MIS • Timely closure of accounts • Compliance to audit recommendations • Compliance to accounting policies • Cost Audit reports Risk Management and Corporate Governance • Ensures that all functional policies are compliant with applicable laws, regulations and industry norms. • Finance Risk Management and adherence to Group Philosophies. • Ensures that appropriate checks & balances are inculcated in the structure and processes. • Ensure statutory compliance to corporate governance requirements • Management assurance and Statutory Compliance. Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations • Number of risk exceptions raised in audit report • Number of risk mitigation initiatives successfully deployed People Development • Drive organizational values and culture • Define and build an amicable work culture • Support management in succession planning, recruitment and performance management for the Plant • Ensure motivation of workforce to ensure smooth production • Design and facilitate internal training programs • Number of training days • Employee engagement score • Attrition rate Sensitivity: Public (C4) 4.
